⭕ More than half of the total 10,100 identified Palestinian political prisoners held by Israel are people who have not been informed of any formal charges against them or been allowed to stand trial.
 
⭕ The Israeli occupation uses 2 different arbitrary legal pretexts to imprison Palestinians w/o trial or charge depending on whether they were abducted from the West Bank or Gaza Strip.
 
⭕ 3,577 Palestinians from the occupied West Bank are under “administrative detention,” and 1,846 Palestinians from occupied Gaza are under the “illegal combatants” law. Both legal pretexts allow Israel to detain Palestinians indefinitely based on a “secret file” and both bypass standard legal protections, denying detainees the right to defend themselves.
 
⭕ NOTE: The number of people held under the “illegal combatants” law does not represent the total number of detainees from Gaza, with Israel continuing to forcibly disappear what are estimated to be thousands of people.
