قال نادي الأسير الفلسطيني إنّ إجمالي عدد الأسيرات في سجون الاحتلال ارتفع خلال شهر كانون الثاني/يناير الجاري إلى (52) أسيرة، وذلك بعد أن اعتقل الاحتلال، خلال الأيام الثمانية الأولى من العام الجاري، خمس أسيرات، من بينهنّ صحفية، وأسيرتان محررتان.

وأوضح نادي الأسير أنّ هذا التصعيد المستمر في استهداف النساء يأتي في واحدة من أكثر الفترات دموية بحقّ النساء الفلسطينيات على مدار سنوات الاحتلال، حيث بلغت حالات الاعتقال في صفوف النساء بعد جريمة الإبادة الجماعية أكثر من (650) حالة، هذا إلى جانب جرائم الحرب والانتهاكات الجسيمة التي تعرّضن لها، وما رافقها من انتهاكات مروّعة، من بينها الاعتداءات الجنسية.

وأضاف النادي أنّ هذا التصعيد الممنهج طال النساء في مختلف الجغرافيات الفلسطينية، ولم يستثنِ القاصرات، كما شمل اعتقال النساء كرهائن، وهي سياسة طالت العشرات منهنّ، بهدف الضغط على أحد أفراد العائلة المستهدفين من قبل الاحتلال لتسليم نفسه، وقد شكّلت هذه السياسة إحدى أبرز الجرائم التي تصاعدت بشكل كبير منذ بدء حرب الإبادة.

أمّا من حيث خلفيات الاعتقال، فإنّ الغالبية العظمى منها تتم على خلفية حرية الرأي والتعبير، أو ما يدّعيه الاحتلال "تحريضًا" عبر وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، فيما تُعتقل أخريات إداريًا بذريعة "الملف السري"، حيث تُحتجز اليوم غالبية الأسيرات على خلفية "التحريض"، و(16) منهنّ رهن الاعتقال الإداري.

وفي الوقت نفسه، تواجه الأسيرات بعد اعتقالهنّ ظروفًا صعبة جدًا، إذ تحتجز سلطات الاحتلال غالبية الأسيرات في سجن "الدامون"، حيث يواجهن ظروف احتجاز قاسية وصعبة، جرّاء سياسة العزل الجماعي التي انتهجتها بحقّ الأسرى والأسيرات في سجون الاحتلال، ولا سيّما منذ بدء حرب الإبادة. ومن أبرز هذه الجرائم: التعذيب، والتجويع، والإهمال الطبي المتعمّد، والاعتداءات الجنسية، وعلى رأسها التفتيش العاري، والتحرّش الذي وثّقت المؤسسة وقوعه في عدد من الحالات على يد السجّانات، إلى جانب الإرهاب النفسي، كالتهديد بالاغتصاب، وعمليات القمع الممنهجة، والاقتحامات المتكررة التي تتخللها اعتداءات بالضرب والإذلال، وإجبار الأسيرات على الركوع وهنّ مقيّدات، مع توجيه شتائم حاطّة بالكرامة الإنسانية.

Ramallah, occupied Palestine- The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) stated that the total number of female political detainees in the occupation’s prisons rose during January 2026 to 52 women. The occupation arrested, during the first eight days of the year, five women, among them a journalist and two formerly released prisoners.

The PPS explained that this ongoing escalation in targeting women comes during one of the most violent periods for Palestinian women throughout decades of occupation, as the number of arrests among women following the crime of genocide in Gaza has exceeded 650 cases. This is in addition to war crimes and grave violations to which they have been subjected, accompanied by horrific abuses, including sexual assaults.

The PPS added that this systematic escalation has targeted women across all Palestinian geographies and has not excluded minors. It has also included the arrest of women as hostages—a policy that has affected dozens of women—aimed at pressuring a targeted family member by the occupation to turn himself in. This policy has constituted one of the most prominent crimes that have sharply escalated since the start of the genocide.

As for the grounds for arrest, the overwhelming majority are held on the basis of freedom of opinion and expression, or what the occupation claims to be “incitement” via social media under harsh military laws. Others are held under administrative detention on the pretext of a “secret file” without trial of charge. Today, the majority of female prisoners are detained on charges of “incitement,” with 16 of them in administrative detention.

At the same time, female prisoners face extremely harsh conditions after their arrest. Occupation authorities hold the majority of them in Damon Prison, where they endure severe and difficult detention conditions due to the policy of collective isolation imposed on prisoners, especially since the start of the war of genocide. Among the most prominent of these crimes are torture, starvation, deliberate medical neglect, and sexual assaults—most notably strip searches and harassment, which the institution has documented in several cases carried out by female prison guards—alongside psychological terror such as threats of rape, systematic repression, and repeated raids accompanied by beatings and humiliation, forcing female prisoners to kneel while shackled, with insults that degrade human dignity.
