The figure does not represent the current number of Palestinian political prisoners (9,600+)– it includes those who remain detained and those who were released.

These mass arrest campaigns are carried out in a brutal, criminal and violent manner including: breaking into homes, severe beatings of family members including children; deliberate and extensive destruction and vandalism of homes; terrorizing raids and threats against detainees and their families, theft of belongings, personal items, cash and gold; extensive damage to infrastructure—especially in the Tulkarem and Jenin refugee camps.

Occupation forces have also carried out many executions, of detainees and their family members, during arrest operations.
