Ramallah, occupied Palestine – In light of the massacre of Palestinians carried out by Israeli settler and soldier militias in the occupied West Bank on Friday morning in the village of Till, and the spike in similar attacks across multiple villages in recent days, Palestinian prisoners' organizations said in a statement that these developments are a culmination of the occupation’s genocidal policies and acts against all Palestinians in the occupied territories. They embody an unprecedented escalation in the policies of systematic executions and murders against the Palestinian people, reaching levels never seen before, in the wake of the ongoing crime of genocide.

The organizations said that the Israeli occupation continues to implement a project of extermination, ethnic erasure, and forcible transfer, relying on Western political and military backing, ongoing international complicity, the structural failure of the international human rights and legal system, and a longstanding climate of impunity that has accompanied the occupation's actions for decades. This impunity has been one of the primary factors encouraging further crimes and serious violations against the Palestinian people without any accountability.

The organizations stressed that responsibility for the ongoing crimes committed throughout Palestine lies with the occupation, as well as with the Western governments that continue to provide it with political, diplomatic, and military protection, thereby enabling it to continue committing these crimes. What is happening today no longer targets Palestinians alone, but also constitutes a direct threat to the legal and moral foundations of the international order, undermining the core principles of international law and human rights. The continued international silence and inaction will allow the ongoing genocide in Gaza to be replicated, in all its details, in the occupied West Bank.

The organizations further stated that the situation in the West Bank clearly demonstrates that there is no longer any distinction between the Israeli army and the Israeli settlers, asserting that both form part of a single colonial system working in full coordination to implement policies of killing, terror, forced displacement, and land seizure as part of a colonial project targeting the Palestinian presence as a whole.

The prisoners' organizations called on the international community, the United Nations, and the High Contracting Parties to the Geneva Conventions to fulfill their legal and moral responsibilities by taking urgent and practical steps to halt Israeli crimes and end the state of impunity that has enabled the continuation of war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide against the Palestinian people. They affirmed that they will continue advocating for the Palestinian and universal human right to self-determination, freedom, and self-defense.

The organizations also called for activating international accountability mechanisms, prosecuting Israeli occupation leaders before the International Criminal Court and other international justice mechanisms, imposing political, economic, and military sanctions on Israel, including halting arms exports to it, and suspending cooperation agreements that facilitate the continuation of serious violations of international law.

Finally, they called for a broader escalation of popular, labor union, student, and human rights solidarity movements around the world, and for strengthening boycott campaigns and efforts to isolate the Israeli occupying state on all levels. Confronting this system of colonialism and genocide is no longer solely the responsibility of Palestinians, but a collective humanitarian and moral responsibility in defense of justice, international law, and values that are facing an unprecedented test amid the ongoing crimes committed against the Palestinian people.
