🔴Occupation Forces Arrest Over 100 Palestinians from Across the West Bank Over Past Week

Ramallah, occupied Palestine – Over the past week, Israeli occupation forces abducted and arrested more than 100 Palestinians from across various governorates of the West Bank, including children, women, former prisoners, and journalists, as part of an ongoing escalation in mass arbitrary arrests and the targeting of Palestinians.

The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) said in a statement that the occupation forces continue to escalate arrest operations across the West Bank. These operations have been accompanied by a range of violations and crimes, including field executions, field interrogations of dozens of Palestinians, physical assaults and mistreatment, as well as threats against detainees and their families.

Among the most prominent people arrested over the past week was former prisoner Ahmad al-Saifi from Birzeit, who had been released as part of the most recent prisoner exchange deal. Also arrested were journalists Muath Amarneh and Sabri Jibril, along with a number of other former prisoners.

During the arrest operations, occupation forces also carried out widespread raids on homes, searching and damaging their contents, causing property damage, and converting a number of homes into military barracks. They also detained Palestinians as hostages in an effort to pressure members of their families, while continuing mass-arrest operations targeting entire areas and neighborhoods during raids.

The arrest operations were accompanied by attacks carried out by settlers against Palestinians and their property, with the protection and support of occupation forces. These attacks included assaults on Palestinians, blocking roads, and attacks on vehicles, as part of an escalating system of targeting faced by Palestinians in the West Bank.

The PPS noted that field interrogation has become one of the most prominent tools used during raids and arrest operations. Dozens of Palestinians are detained and interrogated under harsh conditions, before some are released while others are transferred into detention. Meanwhile, daily raids and arrests continue across the various governorates.

It should be noted that these arrest operations are taking place amid the comprehensive assault being waged by the occupation against the Palestinian people since the beginning of the crime of genocide. Since then, the occupation has arrested more than 25,000 Palestinians from across the West Bank, in addition to thousands arrested from the occupied Gaza Strip, as part of a systematic policy targeting Palestinians across different sectors of society.
